Shortly after the pilot debacle of David E. Kelley's version of Wonder Woman on NBC it was reported that the CW network was interested in making a 'Smallville'-esque take on the Amazonian princess appropriately titled, Amazon. Yet little was heard of it besides some rumors of a bad script but now Entertainment Weekly has reported from the network's upfront presentation that it's still being developed.
“Oh God yes,” [CW Prez Mark] Pedowitz replied, when asked whether the project was still alive. “It’s being redeveloped. We don’t want to produce something” that doesn’t do the franchise justice.
He also mentioned that while the project had all the right elements it lacked proper "execution". It seems they are being careful and taking their time to get this show right. This bodes well for an eventual return to television since the 1970's with Lynda Carter. The new teenage drama and action show would go nicely with the CW's current huge superhero-based hit, Arrow.
