Helen Slater and Dean Cain Join CBS's 'Supergirl' in Mystery Roles

One of the great things about this renaissance of superhero television is the long memory of showrunners who bring back actors who made their mark in tights. Helen Slater played Supergirl in the 1984 theatrical release and Dean Cain famously donned the cape as Superman/Clark Kent on ABC's Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the '90s. They will have guest starring roles in CBS's upcoming Supergirl series.

Honest Trailers Revisits the Game that Changed Everthing: 'Batman: Arkham Asylum'

Batman didn’t always have kick-ass video games as this Honest Trailer reminds us, but it also spotlights when everything changed for the Dark Knight. In 2009, Rocksteady Studios finally managed to give Batman the gritty and dark gameplay he deserved. In Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman has to survive a gauntlet of villains on his way to stop the Joker from detonating bombs in Gotham City. Check out the brutally honest take from Smosh Games.

New 'iZombie' Poster and Featurette with Star Rose McIver

The Vertigo Comics adaptation of iZombie got a new poster from the CW with star Rose McIver getting her hands dirty with some tasty brains. The dark comedy from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas debuts March 17.

Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy Passes Away at Age 83

Beloved actor and writer, Leonard Nimoy, passed away from pulmonary disease today at age 83. The actor best known for his portrayal of the stoic and logical Mr. Spock on the pop culture phenomenon Star Trek television series became a fan-favorite that has endured for almost fifty years. While he’s most identified with the classic sci-fi show and the many big screen movies that followed, Nimoy was an accomplished stage actor, director, author, musician, photographer, poet, narrator and Army vet. ‘Live long and prosper’ was his catchphrase and he certainly did. R.I.P. Mr. Nimoy.

It appears that Arrow producer Greg Berlanti wasn't kidding at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour when he mentioned a possible spin-off was in early talks.

Agent Carter Review (S1E8): 'Valediction'

The season finale of Agent Carter, ‘Valediction,’ provided a nice conclusion to the exciting miniseries, but it did so with less Peggy Carter. The driving force of the series took a back seat to the men of the SSR and Howard Stark. Stark turned himself in when news of the psychosis-inducing gas attack in the theater broke out and left tens of people dead. It then became all about how Stark and the agents were going to lure Leviathan out in the open. And to top it off when all is said and done Agent Thompson gets the credit for the operation. What kind of evil twist is this?

REVIEW: 'The Black Hood' #1 by Duane Swierczynski and Michael Gaydos

Dark Circle Comics is off to a great start in establishing itself as a mature and exciting publisher of hero fare far removed from its Archie parents. The Black Hood #1 by Duane Swierczynski and Michael Gaydos hits the ground running with the first person account of Philadelphia patrolman Greg Hettinger and his descent into drug abuse and ascent into vigilantism. It’s a brutally realistic look at a man who’s deconstructed before our eyes and reborn into the hero (or is it anti-hero?) he’s been made out to be. It’s a refreshing character study that sizzles like a 1970’s action thriller.

REVIEW: 'King: Prince Valiant' #1 by Nate Cosby and Ron Salas

I never liked the Prince Valiant comic strip growing up. I would skim over it, not being all that interested in the Arthurian tale. It just didn't seem entertaining. And yet it's endured for over 75 years. So clearly, there must be something wrong with me. Dynamite's 'King' series, featuring classic comics retold with today's best writers and artists, has been a thoroughly entertaining event. Prince Valiant from Nate Cosby and Ron Salas is another home run.

Marvel's Official 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Poster is Released

Just how many Avengers can you jam on a movie poster. The answer is plenty as this newly released official poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron shows it's all hands on deck. REVIEW: 'Legenderry: Green Hornet' #1 by Daryl Gregory and Brent Peeples

Being new to the Legenderry series from Dynamite I wasn't quite sure what to expect. After reading the Red Sonja entry I was sold. The steampunk universe makes for a fun adventure with characters you know in a totally new landscape. Legenderry: Green Hornet #1 is no less fun and is actually funnier than I anticipated.

Gotham's Donal Logue and Ben McKenzie Discuss 'The Red Hood'

Another character from the Batman files is making his debut on the next episode of Gotham. The Red Hood (with a red ski mask instead of the signature cone-shaped head gear sadly) makes his debut on Monday.

VIKINGS Review (S3E1): 'Mercenary'

Vikings returned for season 3 with some familiar themes and launched some new plotlines that will have some significant consequences from this point forward. It all begins with the new King Ragnar overlooking his “kingdom” atop a frozen mountain with his son Bjorn. “What do you see?” he asks his son. “Power.” The young warrior is not wrong. After dispatching the sleazy King Horik (a wonderful Donal Logue who now patrols the streets of Gotham with a constipated-faced Jim Gordon) last season, Ragnar ascended from simple farmer to warrior king. A wiser, older Ragnar knows that with great power..well, you know the rest.

REVIEW: 'Secret Identities' #1 by Faerber, Joines, Kvriazis and Kirchoff

It's a difficult task to assemble a team of superheroes and make it fresh and different than the many that have populated the world of comics for decades. Even more difficult is developing a compelling ensemble drama that exposes their weaknesses and exploits their secrets in a way that doesn't rip-off Watchmen. So far, Jay Faerber and Brian Joines have avoided such pitfalls and have created an intriguing set of heroes despite one of them actually being a comedian (with a small "c").

REVIEW: 'Goners' #5 by Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona

Each issue of Goners has been a whirlwind of adventure and terror barely slowing down so readers can catch their breath. Issue 5 isn't very different except for some climatic turns and revelations that will alter the future of the Latimers for the rest of the series. It's a monumental story shift that's less of an arc and more like the steady trajectory of a rocket. Needless to say, it's a blast.

REVIEW: 'Lazarus' #15 by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark

'The Conclave' concludes as only it could, with a showdown between warriors. Jacob Hock demands a trial by combat and conveniently offers up his ally's Lazarus to fight the Carlyle's Lazarus, Forever, to the death. He doesn't have anything to lose as the maneuvering of chess pieces between he and Malcolm Carlyle continues but will it be Forever who has to pay the price?

Pixar's New 'Inside Out' Trailer is So Cool It's Ice Cold

Pixar is known for their adorable characters in heart-warming adventures and their upcoming, Inside Out, is no different. In fact, it deals directly with emotions. Specifically, the emotions of an 11-year-old Riley as represented by the characters in her mind - Anger, Joy, Fear, Disgust and Sadness - and voiced by a star-studded cast.

CW's 'iZombie' Releases New Poster

As we inch closer to the March 17 premiere of CW's iZombie, the network released a new poster on Friday. It illustrates what the newly walking dead med student, Liv Moore (Rose McIver), craves as uses her position at the morgue to fill her appetite. In doing so, she also vividly accesses the memories of the deceased. Along with a police detective, she takes that information in order to solve crimes.
