The Flash Season One Finale Review (S1E23): 'Fast Enough'

The words 'heart' and 'chemistry' are sometimes used to describe a television show. It's rare but when a series clicks it can be an enormously satisfying experience. It can take a couple of seasons (if a network has any confidence at all) to build an audience and develop its characters. Rarer still is a show that develops an emotional center and chemistry in its first season. For the CW's Arrow spin-off, The Flash, it has become a comic book fan's dream in its reverence for the source material and its ambitious storytelling. The season one finale,'Fast Enough,' wore its heart on its sleeve leading to a world of possibilities for next season. The Flash has become that show that has hit all the right notes in its debut season making it the rookie of the year.

‘Lumberjanes’ Comic Being Adapted for 20th Century Fox

Boom! Studios' fan-favorite and critically acclaimed comic book series, Lumberjanes, is coming to the big screen in a live-action feature at 20th Century Fox. Created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Noelle Stevenson and Brooke A. Allen, the all-ages series follows the humorous and strange encounters of supernatural proportions for a group of girls at summer scout camp.

Marvel Studios Announces the “Ant-Man Micro-Tech Challenge” for Tech-Savvy Girls

The time has never been more important to encourage girls into STEM so Marvel and partners announced the 'Ant-Man Micro-Tech Challenge' for girls ages 14-18. It's a DIY project that they design and build with a chance to lead a workshop in their community and meet with Walt Disney Imagineers to learn more about technology. It's a great opportunity to promote and inspire girls to seek interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Pass the word.

Watch: Glorious Cheesiness of '80's Action Movies is Back in Outrageous 'Kung Fury'

If you see only one crazy 30-minute crowd-funded action comedy movie featuring homicidal transforming arcade games, dinosaurs, Vikings, nazis, and even a driving synth soundtrack make sure it's 'Kung Fury.' Described as "an over-the-top 80’s action comedy that...features Kung Fury, a Kung Fu renegade cop who travels back in time to kill his Nemesis, Hitler," it doesn't begin to describe the genre-mashing fireworks. REVIEW: 'The Black Hood' #4 by Duane Swiercznski and Michael Gaydos

Greg Hettinger is living the unglamorous life of a vigilante who's willing to take a beating to give a beating. In 'The Black Hood' #4 poor Greg starts off taking quite a beating from two of The Connection's thugs. Unlike Batman or Daredevil, there are no gadgets or heightened senses to help take these gorillas down. Greg has to rely on his street smarts and brawling tactics to survive aided with only the painkillers flowing through his bloodstream. This is the kind of treatment one gets when trying to topple the drug lord's business.

New Action Poster for Marvel's 'Ant-Man'

If you like movie posters then you'll like this action poster for Marvel's Ant-Man. Our tiny hero, Scott Lang, is dodging bullets while on the back of a bug. It's at least more exciting than the standard one with the floating character heads surrounding a standing Ant-Man.

Chris Pine Might Be Steve Trevor in 'Wonder Woman'

If you thought like we did that Scott Eastwood would make a decent Steve Trevor as was rumored well you can kiss those unsubstantiated lies goodbye. Variety had the scoop on Wednesday that Chris Pine was in negotiations to play Diana Prince's love interest in the planned 'Wonder Woman' movie.

The freshman series, iZombie, has Tuesday night at 9 p.m. all to itself as The Flash and Agents of SHIELD are both on hiatus. The show, based the Vertigo comic series, is down to its last three episodes starting with tonight's 'Astroburger.' Major loses a friend to suicide and Liv investigates the strange circumstances.

Ever since DC Comics commissioned Ant Lucia to design a WWII Bombshell-inspired line of collectible stautes, Bombshells have been very popular even resulting in a month of variant covers. 'Supergirl' Pilot Leaks Onto Pirate Sites Ahead of Its Fall Debut

Pirate sites have apparently gotten hold of high-quality copies of CBS's upcoming superhero drama, Supergirl, six months before its scheduled debut. The leaked pilot reportedly hit file-sharing sites early Friday morning and had been downloaded over 120,000 times. That number has grown exponentially since then but CBS has declined comment thus far.

Interview with 'Goners' Creators, Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona

I've been a big proponent of Goners, the supernatural adventure series from Image Comics, written by Jacob Semahn and illustrated by Jorge Corona. The heart-pounding story of the last of the Latimer family, world renowned and legendary defenders against the paranormal, are on the run from evil forces. The first six issues were recently collected in a hit paperback volume, Goners Volume 1: We All Fall Down, and I was fortunate enough to interview the creators via email about their first arc and the future of the series.

Watch The 'Black Widow' Movie Title Sequence We Deserve But Won't Get

Since Marvel Studios has refused to make a well-deserved 'Black Widow' solo film, Christopher Haley took it upon himself to imagine what the title sequence of the movie would look like. As part of his final project for his After Effects class, Haley created an entire professional-quality opening credits with his own casting choices and even made up a plot. The result is beautiful and reminiscent of great James Bond sequences of the past.

'Supergirl' Is All Business In Second Trailer Released

After the first Supergirl trailer was released yesterday by CBS, some fans likened it to SNL's Black Widow Rom-Com parody trailer. While yes there were some parallels, especially the bouncy pop soundtrack, the trailer ushered in the first superpowered female lead on television in this modern age of comic book TV. This latest trailer takes a more serious approach with traditional emphasis on powers and fighting scenes with the villain Vartox than on her interpersonal interactions. This trailer should appease some of those knee-jerk critics, but the internet is a fickle beast.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Watch the New Trailer!

Last week, The CW announced DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, an all-new show set in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow that would feature characters from both shows as well as some brand new ones from within the DC Universe. Today, they released a specially shot trailer to give fans an idea of what to expect.

REVIEW: 'Chrononauts' #3 by Mark Millar and Sean Murphy

It's hard to describe Chrononauts #3 in one word. 'Bonkers' comes close, but it's such a wild ride you'd need movie comparisons. If you took Smokey and the Bandit, Back to the Future, and Stargate and put it in a blender with a cocaine-laced can of Red Bull you'd come pretty close to the adrenaline rush this issue doles out.

REVIEW: 'The Mantle' #1 by Ed Brisson and Brian Level

Ed Brisson has put a new spin on the superhero genre with this kickass new title, The Mantle, from Image Comics. Imagine The Mantle as Green Lantern's power ring except with really poor choices in hosts. Enter Robbie, who's the latest chosen one to harness the power, the least likely candidate who has to face the killer of all hosts before him, The Plague.

CBS revealed its fall schedule and they've placed their first superhero show since the '90s, Supergirl, against another DC Comics-based show on Fox, Gotham. They'll share the 8 p.m. time slot but will they divide the fanbase?

REVIEW: 'Copperhead' #7 by Jay Faerber, Scott Godlewski and Ron Riley

Since hitting Copperhead, Sheriff Clara Bronson has been all business. She quickly became embroiled in a grisly homicide investigation while still getting to know her new deputy and handling being a single mom. After the first arc, it looked like Bronson was going to be able to relax and settle in a bit. 'Copperhead' #7 proves there's no rest for the wicked as the action escalates quickly and soon Bronson and Boo are in more danger than ever before.

'Legenderry: Green Hornet' has been a fun and wild ride. Things are only getting more tense and exciting in the penultimate issue four. Green Hornet and Kato join forces with the Brass Hornet to take down Lidia Valcallan. They just have to survive the night running a gauntlet of gangs to get to her.

Daryl Gregory may be having the most fun writing a comic right now as he describes Little Lord Homicide as having "mommy issues."

Fox Releases Trailers for 'Minority Report,' 'Lucifer,' 'Bordertown' and More

During Fox's upfront presentation to advertisers, the network debuted a number of trailers most notably for 'Minority Report', 'Lucifer', 'The Frankenstein Code,' and 'Bordertown.'A trailer for the much-anticipated return of 'The X-Files' was not available. Watch the trailers and synopsis for shows you'll probably enjoy before Fox decides to cancel anyway.
