Can You Watch Marvel Movies on Netflix?

Are you a fan of Marvel movies? Have you been wondering if you can watch them on Netflix?

Well, the answer is both yes and no. Allow me to explain.

Yes, you can watch some Marvel movies on Netflix:

  • As of now, Netflix has a few Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies available for streaming. These include Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Thor: Ragnarok.
  • Netflix also has some non-MCU Marvel movies available such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Punisher.

But here’s the catch:

The Marvel/Netflix Deal:

In 2013, Netflix signed a deal with Marvel to produce four original shows based on Marvel characters – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. These shows culminated in a crossover event called The Defenders.

However, in 2018 Netflix announced that they were canceling all of their Marvel shows citing declining viewership numbers. This means that all of the aforementioned shows are no longer available on Netflix.

The Future of Marvel on Netflix:

In late 2018, Disney (the parent company of Marvel) announced that they would be launching their own streaming service called Disney+. This service would feature all existing MCU films as well as exclusive new content such as TV shows based on popular MCU characters like Loki and Hawkeye.

Given this announcement it is unlikely that we will see any new MCU content coming to Netflix in the future. However, for now at least we still have access to a few fan-favorite MCU films on the platform.

The Bottom Line:

If you’re looking for a comprehensive collection of Marvel movies and shows, Netflix may not be the best option. However, if you’re just looking to catch up on a few MCU films, then Netflix can be a great resource.

Keep in mind that the availability of these films on Netflix can change at any time. So if you see something you want to watch, don’t wait too long!

In conclusion, while Netflix may not offer an extensive collection of Marvel movies and shows, they do have a few gems available for streaming. It’ll be interesting to see how the launch of Disney+ affects the future of Marvel content on streaming platforms.
