Batman / Batman Joker

Does Batman Kill Joker in Titans?

When it comes to the iconic rivalry between Batman and the Joker, fans are always on edge. In DC Comics, Batman has always been portrayed as a hero who never kills his enemies, even if they are as dangerous as the Joker. However, the recent season of Titans has left fans wondering if Batman’s moral code has changed.

In the season finale of Titans titled “Nightwing,” Batman (played by Iain Glen) is shown confronting the Joker (played by Cameron Gellman) in an abandoned amusement park. The Joker had kidnapped Jason Todd (played by Curran Walters), and in a heated exchange, Todd ends up killing him.

This scene left fans wondering if this was a departure from Batman’s code. Did Batman kill the Joker in Titans?

The answer is no, Batman did not kill the Joker in Titans. While he did confront him and was tempted to kill him after seeing Todd’s body, he ultimately chose not to.

This decision was made clear when Bruce Wayne later tells Dick Grayson (played by Brenton Thwaites), “I wanted to kill him [the Joker]. I didn’t.”

This scene highlights just how much Todd’s death affected Bruce Wayne and his relationship with Dick Grayson. It also shows that while Batman may be tempted to break his moral code at times, he ultimately chooses not to.

It is important to note that this version of Batman is different from other iterations we have seen in the past. In some versions of DC Comics and other adaptations like Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, we see a more rigid adherence to Batman’s no-killing rule.

However, Titans takes a different approach and presents us with a more flawed and human version of Batman who struggles with his own morality.

Overall, while it may have seemed like Batman killed the Joker in Titans, this was not actually the case. The scene served as a reminder of just how high-stakes their conflict can be, and how close Batman can come to breaking his own code.

So, fans can rest easy knowing that Batman still upholds his no-killing rule in Titans, even if it was a close call.
