How Do You Frame a Comic Book?

If you’re a comic book collector, you know the importance of keeping your comics in good condition. One way to do this is by framing them.

Framing not only protects your comics from damage but also makes them look great on display. In this article, we’ll go over how to frame a comic book.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

The first step in framing a comic book is to gather all the necessary supplies. You will need:

  • Comic book
  • Frame
  • Mat board
  • Backing board
  • Glass or acrylic sheet
  • Metal clips or tape
  • Hanging hardware (optional)

Step 2: Choose a Frame

The frame you choose should be the right size for your comic book. Make sure it’s deep enough to accommodate the thickness of the comic along with the mat board and backing board.

Step 3: Cut Your Mat Board and Backing Board

Measure the dimensions of your comic book and cut the mat board and backing board to fit inside the frame. The mat board should be slightly larger than the comic so that it creates a border around it.

Step 4: Assemble Your Frame

Place the backing board inside the frame, followed by the mat board on top of it. Then, carefully place your comic book on top of the mat board.

Step 5: Add Glass or Acrylic Sheet

Place a glass or acrylic sheet over your comic book and secure it with metal clips or tape.

Note:

If you’re using tape, make sure it’s acid-free so that it doesn’t damage the comic over time. Also, be careful not to apply too much pressure when securing the glass or acrylic sheet so that you don’t damage the comic.

Step 6: Add Hanging Hardware (Optional)

If you plan on hanging your framed comic on a wall, add hanging hardware to the back of the frame. Make sure it’s secure enough to hold the weight of the frame and comic.

Conclusion

Framing a comic book is a great way to protect and display your collection. With these steps, you’ll be able to frame your comics like a pro and enjoy them for years to come.
