What Marvel Movies Did Sony Make?

If you’re a fan of Marvel movies, you may be wondering which ones are made by Sony. As one of the biggest movie studios in the world, Sony has had a hand in producing several Marvel films over the years. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at which Marvel movies Sony has made.

Spider-Man Movies

One of the most well-known Marvel characters is Spider-Man, and Sony has been making Spider-Man movies since 2002. The first three Spider-Man movies – “Spider-Man” (2002), “Spider-Man 2” (2004), and “Spider-Man 3” (2007) – were all produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

After a brief hiatus, Sony rebooted the franchise with “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012. They followed it up with “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” in 2014. These two films starred Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Collaborations

While Sony has primarily been responsible for making standalone Spider-Man movies, they have also collaborated with Marvel Studios on several occasions to bring Spider-Man into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In 2016, Tom Holland made his debut as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War,” a film produced by Marvel Studios but distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Holland then went on to star in his own standalone film, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” in 2017, which was also a collaboration between Sony and Marvel Studios.

In 2019, Holland reprised his role as Spider-Man in both “Avengers: Endgame” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” both of which were produced by Marvel Studios but distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

While Venom is primarily known as a villain in the Spider-Man comics, Sony decided to make a standalone film about the character in 2018. “Venom” starred Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom and was produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In 2022, Sony is set to release “Morbius,” a movie based on the Marvel character of the same name. Jared Leto will star as Michael Morbius, a biochemist who inadvertently turns himself into a vampire while trying to cure his rare blood disease. Like “Venom,” “Morbius” is being produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

So there you have it – the Marvel movies that Sony has made. From the early Spider-Man movies to their collaborations with Marvel Studios and upcoming standalone films like “Morbius,” Sony has played a big role in bringing these beloved characters to the big screen.
