What Marvel Movies Have Been Pulled?

Over the past few years, Marvel movies have become some of the most popular films in the world. Fans eagerly await each new release, and there’s no denying the impact that these movies have had on popular culture.

However, not all Marvel movies have been successful, and some have even been pulled from theaters. Here’s a rundown of what Marvel movies have been pulled over the years.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

The Incredible Hulk is often forgotten when it comes to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), but it was actually one of the early entries in the franchise. Starring Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk, the movie was released in 2008 to mixed reviews. It didn’t perform as well as other Marvel movies at the box office, and as a result, plans for a sequel were scrapped.

Fantastic Four (2015)

The Fantastic Four reboot was highly anticipated when it was announced, but ultimately it proved to be a major disappointment for fans and critics alike. The movie suffered from poor writing and direction, and its performances were lackluster. It performed so poorly at the box office that plans for a sequel were quickly abandoned.

Gamora (2020)

Gamora was supposed to be part of Marvel’s Phase 4 lineup, but plans for her own standalone movie were quickly scrapped following Disney’s acquisition of Fox. The character will still appear in future MCU films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

New Mutants (2020)

New Mutants had a long and troubled production history before finally being released in 2020. The movie suffered from multiple delays and reshoots, leading many fans to believe it would never see the light of day. When it finally did hit theaters, it received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office.

Inhumans (2017)

Inhumans was originally intended to be a movie, but plans were changed and it was instead turned into a TV series. However, the show was met with negative reviews and poor ratings, and was ultimately cancelled after just one season.

While not all Marvel movies have been successful, it’s clear that the franchise as a whole remains incredibly popular. With new films like Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals on the horizon, fans have plenty to look forward to in the years ahead.
