What Marvel Movies Take Place in New York?

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, New York City has always been a central location. From the Avengers Tower to the Sanctum Sanctorum, many of our favorite superheroes call the Big Apple their home. The Avengers (2012)

The first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature a team-up of superheroes takes place primarily in New York City. The final battle scene is set in Manhattan, where we see the Avengers fight off an alien invasion led by Loki.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

As one of Marvel’s most beloved characters, Spider-Man has always had a special connection to New York. In “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” we see Peter Parker attend high school in Queens and swing through the streets of Manhattan as he tries to stop Vulture from stealing advanced technology.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

In this reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, we again see Peter Parker living in Queens and attending high school. However, this time he faces off against Dr. Connors (aka The Lizard) who threatens to turn all of New York City into reptilian creatures.

Daredevil (2003)

While not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it today, “Daredevil” was still a notable film that took place in New York City. We see Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) taking on crime boss Wilson Fisk while also trying to navigate his complicated love life.

The Punisher (2004)

Another non-MCU movie set in New York is “The Punisher.” This movie follows Frank Castle as he seeks revenge on those responsible for killing his family.

While not full-fledged movies, there are a few other Marvel properties that take place in New York City. These include:
