What Marvel Movies Will Be in Phase 5?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a blockbuster hit since its inception in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. The franchise has only grown in popularity and continues to dominate the box office with every new release.

As we approach the end of Phase 4, fans are eagerly anticipating what Marvel movies will be included in Phase 5. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

What is Phase 5?

Phase 5 of the MCU is expected to begin after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021. It will consist of several new movies and TV shows that will expand the universe even further.

Confirmed Marvel Movies for Phase 5

Although details about Phase 5 are still being kept under wraps, there are a few confirmed movies that have been announced by Marvel Studios.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

One of the most highly anticipated movies in Phase 5 is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The movie will be a sequel to the wildly successful Black Panther, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Unfortunately, actor Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular character, passed away in August 2020. The movie is set to honor his legacy by exploring other characters from Wakanda.

The Marvels

The Marvels is another highly anticipated movie that will feature three female superheroes – Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). The movie will be directed by Nia DaCosta and is set to release on November 11, 2022.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is another sequel that fans are excited about. The movie will feature the return of Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. It is set to release on February 17, 2023.

Rumored Marvel Movies for Phase 5

There are also several rumored Marvel movies that could be included in Phase 5.

Blade is a fan-favorite character from the comics who was previously portrayed by Wesley Snipes in a trilogy of movies. The character is set to make his MCU debut with actor Mahershala Ali taking on the role. The movie has been confirmed to be in development, but no release date has been announced yet.

Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four are a group of superheroes who gained their powers after being exposed to cosmic radiation. They have had several adaptations over the years, but none have been successful critically or commercially. Marvel Studios acquired the rights to the characters when they purchased Fox and is expected to give them a fresh start in the MCU.

Deadpool 3

Deadpool is a character known for his humor and fourth-wall-breaking antics. The first two movies were rated R and were successful at the box office despite their restricted rating. Disney, which owns Marvel Studios, has expressed its willingness to continue making Deadpool movies with Ryan Reynolds returning as the titular character.

Phase 5 of the MCU promises to be another exciting chapter in Marvel’s cinematic history. With confirmed sequels and new characters making their debut, fans can’t wait to see what’s next for their favorite heroes and villains. While we still don’t know everything that will be included in Phase 5, there’s no doubt that it will continue to expand and evolve the already vast universe that Marvel has created.
