Where Does Iron Fist Fit in the Marvel Universe?

Iron Fist, also known as Danny Rand, is a superhero character in the Marvel Comics Universe. Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, Iron Fist first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 in 1974. He is a master martial artist who possesses the power of the Iron Fist, which allows him to channel his chi energy into his fists and strike opponents with incredible force.

The Origin of Iron Fist

Danny Rand’s origin story begins when he and his parents are on a trip to the mystical city of K’un-Lun in Tibet. After their plane crashes in the Himalayas, Danny’s parents die while he is rescued by the inhabitants of K’un-Lun.

There, he trains under Lei Kung the Thunderer and becomes a master martial artist. To gain the power of the Iron Fist, Danny must defeat Shou-Lao the Undying by plunging his fists into a brazier containing its heart.

One of Iron Fist’s most notable story arcs was during Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction’s run on The Immortal Iron Fist series where they expanded upon Danny Rand’s backstory and made him part of a larger mythology involving seven other immortal warriors who each represented one of the seven capital cities of heaven.

Iron Fist has also been adapted to other media such as television and film. He was portrayed by Finn Jones in the Netflix series, Marvel’s Iron Fist, which premiered in 2017. The series received mixed reviews but still managed to gather a fan base.
